Meet the Midwives

As Southern Oregon's premiere open-model Community Birthcenter, families either see one of the dedicated Rogue Midwives or their own licensed midwife throughout care and then labor & birth at the birthcenter with their midwifery team.  The midwives collectively bring decades of knowledge and experience and maintain memberships with the Chamber of Commerce, Oregon Association of Birth Centers (OABC), Postpartum Support International (PSI), Breastfeeding Coalition of Josephine County, Southern Oregon Perinatal Task Force, Southern Oregon Birth Connections (SOBC), Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA), National Association of Certified Professional Midwives (NACPM), Evidence Based Birth Professional (EBB), Citizens for Midwifery, The Big Push for Midwives, American Association of Birth Centers (AABC), and North American Registry of Midwives (NARM).

Retired Midwife - Dec 2023

 After 25 years of birth work and 16 years on-call Amy made the decision to retire from midwifery.  We are excited for her journey the next chapter of her career!
  "Moving on from the Rogue Birth Center was not an easy decision to make!!  I have been so blessed to work with all of our Rogue Birth Center families over the last eight years. You have all become my family and are all etched in my heart. It was an honor to serve over 1000 families as part of this amazing team. I have had the strong calling to transition into being an end of life Midwife. To me, it is the same, just energy moving the opposite direction. Traditional midwives helped with both “coming and going.  When I was attending midwifery school, I did both and it felt truly balanced to me.  I always imagined making this transition during my midwifery career.  Thank you for allowing me to serve you and work beside you for the last eight years. These are the proudest years of my life and career. It was an honor to walk the path with each of you."
