1 in 7 women and 1 in 10 dads report experiencing a mood disorder related to the perinatal year (and those numbers are believed to be much higher due to the lack of education & screening around PMADs)?  Having survived postpartum depression and anxiety, she understands personally how very important support and guidance during this time of life is! Parenthood, whether 1st baby or 5th, often comes with a range of emotions including grieving a loss of freedom, imposter-syndrome, varying levels of guilt and fear, attachment concerns, finding a new work/life balance, deciding to return to work and daycare choices or stay at home, navigating the pressures of social media and the false projections of perfectionism, and managing the rollercoaster ride of being overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure while simultaneously bursting with unlimited love, pride, and bliss for your little human(s)...parenting is a wild ride and she is here to help!

From the start of the relationship there will be candid, nonjudgmental, and very "real" conversations along with comprehensive evaluation and an evolving plan. As a client you will quickly fill your toolkit of confidence with coping skills and techniques, journaling and/or work-booking exercises, and discovering creative outlets for expression all supported by evidenced-based research as our relationship continues. As a midwife at Rogue Birth Center LLC, Willa is able to collaborate with the other local providers when symptoms are severe enough to impair normal functioning and warrant medication management. Working as a team, discussions and continued education will ensure the ability to weigh risks and benefits of options and decide what is in your best interest for how to find wellness in your life for you and your growing family.
